NuTemp/Longville's Chillers and Prompt Delivery Help a Hawaiian Hotel
Having one of the towers in a huge multi-tower hotel in Hawaii closed during the popular summer months is no joke for the hotel management, as well as the tourists who gather there annually to enjoy the beautiful waterfront and luxurious settings of the hotel. However, with some utility equipment out of order, the hotel decided to take measures and completely refurbish one of its buildings. This involved reconstruction of the central chilled water plant, including: replacement or rebuilding of all cooling towers and replacement of two chillers. NuTemp/Longville was initially contacted by an engineering group on behalf of the hotel. The goal was to provide the additional cooling capacity required to allow for the retro-fit of the central chilled water plant. It was determined, to accomplish this task, the hotel needed two 600 ton containerized chillers (300 psi capability), two 600 ton cooling towers, and properly sized circulating water pumps to support the entire temporary system. Of course, speed of delivery was a top priority. NuTemp/Longville shipped the necessary equipment to a Long Beach, California port from four different Company facilities: Louisiana, Texas, Illinois, and Delaware. The equipment was subsequently loaded on a ship bound for Hawaii. Exceeding the customer's expectations, the equipment arrived in Hawaii one week before our deadline, and 10 days after the "trigger" was pulled. Thus, repairs and renovations began earlier than planned, with minimal interruption to hotel operations.
